About Naduvapatti Temple:
Once when he was meditating at night in the fields, they say he received the grace of Sri Agastya Muni. And finally, when he was guarding the millet from the night birds, it is said that Shiva came and took over him. After that he started sitting in long and deep meditations. Sometimes for days and even months.
When he got spiritual insight, he asked to meditate underground. He sat beside the present water tank , but below the surface, underneath the ground he told everyone that he should not be disturbed and should be taken out after a specific number of days. He instructed the villagers to which they agreed and then he sat inside the pit. He had three friends and told them to safeguard the place and open only on 40th Day. Then he sat in samadhi and as per instructions, these 3 people protected the place. The 3 men stood for 10 days safeguarding the samadhi. One day they went to the nearby town of Sattur on some work. Sadhguru’s brother went around accusing these three men for killing his brother and absconding. The police arrived and dug open the pit. They saw he was alive. He was in intense anger. He got up and left.
