About Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Temple Ooty

Another incident took place at the Devi temple, Sadhguru asked the temple priest if he could spend the night inside. The priest let him stay the night, but locked the outer temple gates when he left for the day. The priest went to sleep at his house. But he suddenly woke up in the middle of the night, he was worried about what the man he had given shelter might do if he needed to attend nature’s call. Concerned that he would desanctify the  temple premises, the priest rushed back to the temple. When he reached there, he peeped through the window to check on him. What he saw was parts of his body strewn all around-legs, hands, head – all scattered and burning. The priest was terrified that somebody had harmed the traveler. He started screaming “Swami! Swami! Swami!” The very next moment, the parts joined themselves together and walked out as Sadhguru. The priest, having witnessed this, was of course, shocked beyond words.

There is a place to sit and meditate. Just behind the ashram, there is a forest where Sadhguru Sri Brahma was in sadhana. There is a pit marked with white color where he was in Samadhi. Since it is forest, it is not recommended to go alone. The ashram opens only between 6 to 7 AM so you can take assistance from people at the ashram during that time. This place is also known as Siddhagiri. You can go into meditative states at both the ashram and the pit in the forest effortlessly.
