About Kaduveli Siddhar
The story of Kaduveli Siddhar is associated with the Irumbai Mahakaleshwarar Temple, Shiva Temple. During his period, the place was suffered due to drought with out rain. It was told to the king that this was due to Kaduveli Siddhar’s severe penance. To stop this the king sent a Devadasi dancer. Disturbed due to the dance the Kaduveli siddhar stopped his penance. During the Urchavar’s procession, the anklet of the Devadasi dancer had fallen down. Kaduveli Siddhar fixed back her anklet. Seeing this act the people started mocking at him. Angered Siddhar, sang a song on Lord Shiva to prove his devotion and dedication. Immediately the Shiva Linga burst in to 3 pieces. Seeing this the people and the King realized their mistake and seek apology from the Siddhar. Kaduveli Siddhar has sung a song and the Shiva Linga joined back.
