Trishul Dhara, Gosainkunda Lake, Rasuwa, Nepal

This source of water is said to be created by Shiva thrusting his trident into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his burning throat after swallowing poison during Samudra Manthan. This water source creates the Gosainkunda lake.

How to get there
Trishul Dhara is 10 mins hike East towards Suryakund from Gosaikunda.

Gosainkunda can be reached with one and a half day trek from Dhunche, or trek from Helambu.

Gosainkunda
The Gosaikunda area has been delineated as a religious site. Hindu mythology attributes Gosaikunda as the abode of the Hindu deities Shiva and Gauri. The Hindu scriptures Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana and the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata refer to Samudra manthan, which is directly related to the origin of Gosaikunda. Its waters are considered holy and of particular significance during the Gangadashahara and the Janai Purnima festivals when thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the area.[2]

According to Hindu mythology, Gosaikunda is the abode of Hindu god Shiva and goddess Parvati. Various Hindu scriptures refer to Samudra Manthan, which is directly related to the origin of Gosaikunda. The lake is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his trident into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his burning throat after swallowing poison during Samudra Manthan.
