About Sultankeshwar Mahadev Prachin Mandir
There is such a Shivling established near Sangam in Prayagraj, UP, which was established by Lord Surya Dev. On the orders of Supreme Father Brahmaji, for the welfare of the people, Surya Dev, the god of health, installed a Shivling just in front of Akshayavat near Sangam and worshiped it. In Shivpuran and Skanda Puran, this temple has been described as Shool Tankeshwar Mahadev Temple.
By visiting and worshiping here Lord Shiva as well as Suryadev is pleased. At the time of the establishment of the Shivling, due to the heat of the Sun God, lines were formed in this Shivling, which are visible even today.
Sun God is pleased with Mahadev by worshiping Shivling. By
offering water to this Shivling established by Lord Surya and worshiping it, not only Bholenath is pleased, but Sun God is also pleased with him. It is also believed that worshiping this Shivling together pleases Lord Shiva and the Sun God. Behind the Shul Tankeshwar Mahadev temple, there is also a temple of Sun God, about which it is said that centuries ago many sages used to do penance in this temple. Since that time, the temple of Sun God was also established here. At present, the devotees who come here go to the temple of Sun God and have darshan of him too.
