Shri Bhadrakali Temple situated in Nashik is a Siddha Shaktipeeth, and has also earned its mention in the Shiva Purana. Mata Sati sacrificed herself in King Daksha’s Yagya as Daksha insulted her husband Lord Shiva. After this, Shri Vishnu cut her body into different parts with his Sudarshana Chakra. The places in which Mata Sati’s body parts fell were established as Shakti Peethas.
