It is said that Shri Siddha Peeth Bhole Giri Temple was built hundreds of years ago. It was built by the ancestors of Maharaja Kamlakar Singh of Shankargarh. It is said that at the time of the battle of Alha Udal, the Maharaja of Shankargarh worshiped Lord Bholenath at this place after consecrating his life. By the grace of Shiva, he had conquered Alha Udal.
Specialty of the temple
In the Bhole Giri temple, the Shivling of Lord Bholenath is seated on Damru, which is about 4 feet tall. This Shivling is the center of everyone’s attraction. It is believed that all the wishes of the devotee who worships him with true heart and pure feelings are fulfilled.
Programs are held on Sawan, Nagpanchami etc.
In the entire month of Sawan, Lord Bholenath is decorated grandly and a month-long fair is held. In the Bhole Giri temple, Lord Bholenath’s divine and grand decoration is done on the auspicious festivals of Nagpanchami, Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami and Mahashivratri. People from every corner of Prayagraj come here for worship and darshan.
